How did Blake Lively get a lead role in a Steven Soderbergh movie?

After all of this time, after all of the man-dangling, the baits, the switches, the famewhorin’, the photo ops, the details dropped into tabloids – it’s all paid off. Blake Lively has something tangible! She got the lead role in a movie! And not some Sisterhood of the Gossip Girls movie either. Blake Lively got the lead role in Steven Soderbergh’s new film, The Side Effects. Soderbergh is an Oscar-winning director known for his established relationships with A-listers like George Clooney, Matt Damon and Julia Roberts. Soderbergh has also been threatening to quit the biz, and as such, he’s been cramming in a steady stream of films – his last film, Contagion, came out in September. His new film, Haywire, comes out this month.

But this is about Blake. Blake got a lead role. This girl’s career path hasn’t always been this bright. I like to think that it was her small-but-showy supporting part in The Town that really changed her career – working “under” Ben Affleck was one of the smartest career moves for her, even though she was the weakest, mumbling link in a very strong film. She followed that up with The Green Lantern, which didn’t do much at the box office, but she managed to get a boyfriend out of it, so whatever. And the last film she worked on was with Oliver Stone, a film called The Savages, where she has a supporting part. It’s a BIG deal that Blake landed a lead, and with Soderbergh, no less.

The Side Effects will have Blake playing Emily Hawkins, “a woman who turns to prescription meds to cope with the anxiety of the upcoming release from prison of her husband.” Joining Blake – Channing Tatum, who will play her husband and Jude Law, playing her shrink. Will Soderbergh coax a great performance out of her? Will Blake officially be a movie star after this? Will she become insufferable? Will she dump Ryan and trade up for someone better and less gerbily? So many questions.

Here are some new photos of Blake at work on Gossip Girl yesterday:

Gossip Girl is still on? Who watches these things?????

She is not a great actress, but who knows, maybe a great director can make her less annoying.

And Blake, honey, fix the toes of your tights, ASAP.

    • HadleyB says:

I do. Love GG. Leighten is the star though in my opinion.

Umm Blake and Channing? It sounds awful already.. they are both horrid actors.. only good to look at .kinda ..in a blondey sorta way.

      • for real? says:

hey keep channing outta this lol, he is a sweet heart. as for the girl well she’s fair game!

      • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

@Hadley, I agree. Channing is a horrible actor BUT he is SEXY. I watched that god awful movie Eagle and couldn’t believe HOW bad he was. He should just stick with action movies or Rom Coms, they’re designed for actors/actresses without depth or acting ability.

      • Jezi says:

I lurve me some Channing. I think his wife better watch him closely with Blake.

    • Leigh says:

ha! That’s the first thing I noticed too. Her feet -those tights-in those shoes!! She looks like a first grader playing dressup!

  2. two_seconds_ago says:

    Two words – casting couch!

    • Silk spectre says:

You hit the nail on the head! If you ever wonder how any talentless actress got a big job like that – it’s THAT answer.

      • MIDRED_PIERCE says:

Many of your fav actors no matter the talent and no matter the gender have done a little couch time to get to where they want. The gays run things in Hollywood as we all know so, better believe all these male actors with all that ‘credibility’ have had to drop them drawers. It’s ridiculous people ONLY throw this insult at females in the industry.

      • Silk spectre says:

I’m aware of that and I didn’t want to sound sexist! But the question was: “How did SHE get that role?”

    • Yes says:

Indeed. She and Freida Pinto are products of casting couch

    • D says:

Let’s not be sexist and limit this to actresses…if anyone’s sleeping with soderbergh for roles it’s channing f’ing tatum

    • Sarko says:

      Wow
I knew it was en vogue to smear and slander Blake, as haterade on her is the fast track to cool
I didn’t know poor Frieda Pinto was also a target

    • Alyce says:

Casting Couch is just for supporting parts. I think that she got this on her own.

    • Gigi says:

Not Soderbergh’s. Think someone BIGGER. I don’t know if he’s actually gotten her on it, but just the thought of it seems tantalizing enough for him to be opening career doors for her and giving her killer famewhoring advice.

    • Petunia says:

I hate to be the one to say it but isn’t the casting couch supposed to be the way that most struggling actors break into the business?

      • MIDRED_PIERCE says:

Unfortunately, it is a much rumoured tool among the established set that allows an actor male or female to get a part over another.

      • Cidee says:

I wish there was a casting couch in “real” life. When I think of all of those times I gave it away for free in my 20s….I could be CEO of something now.

    • marilyn says:

do i detect the green eyed monster called jealousy here. the fact is that Blake got the part. Steven saw something he liked and since he’s the director got his way.

    • Newtsgal says:

      I agree!
But, my two words are BLOW JOB!
Either that or Soderbergh lost a bet.

    • crazycatlady says:

That’s exactly what I thought after reading the headline. LOL.

  3. Dee says:

You gotta hand it to Blake. Her game is so damn good. I’m now rooting for her!!!

    • operagirl says:

Me too! At least it’s entertaining to watch her play her game!

    • mln76 says:

Agreed! She may not have the acting abilities but she’s definitely entertaining to watch.

    • Bermuda Blues says:

I’ll cheers to that! Go Blake Go!

    • Petunia says:

I can’t exactly say that I’m rooting for her (golddiggers of any sort annoy me, and in my strange definition, sleeping to the top with limited talent = gold digging of a sort) but her game IS good, very darned good. So my hat is off to her for that. Pippa Middleton should watch, listen and learn how to play the game this well, so she could bag someone BIG.

  4. Anne says:

Dear lord, is there no end to this woman?

  5. brin says:

Yeah, Ryan’s days could be numbered.

    • Marjalane says:

Yeah, but who’s she going to move up to? There’s such a lack of “stars” that would be interested. I think Leo was her zenith. She needs a vanilla yes-boy by her side.

      • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

Jude Law is her co-star, I can see him making a play for her! Actually, I’m secretly hoping they get together. I think his game is stronger than hers.

      • Petunia says:

Hey, Morticians – boy, that’s an interesting thought and pairing! And yes, maybe his game is even better than hers. I’d really like to see them together. Much hilarity and fun for gossipmongers would ensue.

      • layla says:

I could probably get on board with a Jude Law-Blake Lively train. That is INFINITLY more gossip titalating (for some reason) than her and RR.

      • podzol says:

Jude Law’s got a super potent sperm count by all apparent looks, so who’s ready to see Lively with a bun in the oven by next year’s Oscars?

      • MorticiansDoItDeader says:

Yes to all of the above!

    • Ladyfoot says:

      Can clooney be next??? Please!

  6. jex says:

Because Soderbergh is going off the rails and hasn’t made a worthwhile movie in years and has been casting crap actors like Channing Tatum.

    • TheOriginalKitten says:

Exactly. This move is more evidence of Soderberg’s dying career. I’ll see the new movie with Fassie just because he’s in it but I don’t have high hopes.

  7. kazoo says:

Soderbergh movies only do well if Brad or George are in them.

    • Tapioca says:

Oh, I don’t know – Solaris had George in it and was one of only six films ever hated enough by cinemagoers to get an “F” mark on Cinemascore!

  8. Lucy says:

What is going on in her lower leg region is she wearing son is under the tights?

  9. seVen says:

Say something nice! …. I like her shoes.

  10. I.want.shoes says:

Because she probably slept with the director and/or sent nude pictures of herself.

    • D says:

Um i doubt anyone would give her a role in exchange for nude pics when they can just see them online for free…

  11. M3l says:

I hate it when tights do that to me.

Here’s hoping she doesn’t bang Jude Law.

  12. manta says:

I know everyone seems to hate that chick but the only two films in which I saw her, I found her quite good.
They were “The Town” and “The private lives of Pippa Lee”.
I think that’s the 2nd that helped the most her career and her cred. Even if not seen by many,it associated her name with darlings of the indie circle:Rebecca Miller(Arthur’s daughter and Day Lewis’wife), Alan Arkin,Julianne Moore,Robin Wright.
I’ll wait a few films before making a definitive judgement.

    • Sarko says:

You and I are DEFINITELY in a minority
Soderbergh, Affleck and Stone all referenced her part in Pippa Lee, which she was goooood
I like both Blake and Leighton and think they could avert the O.C curse
But in my office we gisted if reps/agents of other actresses deliberately spread these rumors about her.
I mean if she’s not a threat, and I don’t think she is then why?

    • Lisa says:

I’m with you…the movies I have seen her in…”Pippa Lee” and “The Town”…she was damn good! And if an actress isn’t…I will definetly give her the GAS FACE!!!

So…I totally overstand why she was hired…

    • D says:

Yeah she was def good in pippa lee and even though it’s passé to say this,I thought she did as good of a job as anyone not named jeremy renner in the town. I don’t know where the myth that she sucked in it came from bc all the reviews I saw praised her too…

    • mia girl says:

YES to this. I’ve watched The Private Lives of Pippa Lee a couple of times and thought Lively did a really good job in that movie. I thought she brought a lot to that character and could easily transition between Robin Wright’s portrayal of Pippa Lee and Blake’s (which is saying a lot because Wright is awesome). I think Blake has some chops (along with the fame-ho gene)

Anyway, I like that movie quite a bit, Keanu was really good in it as well. Recommend for your Netflix queue.

    • DeeVine says:

I like her too! She’s bland in Gossip Girl cos her character is supposed to be a vacuous, slutty, socialite. With a good script she has potential.

      • lwilly says:

why do SOOOOOO many people hate on this girl. she can act (the town). but i think that people confuse her GG character with how she really is in person. like they did for the oc’s marissa and 90210’S (THE ORIGINAL THERE IS NOTHING ELSE)brenda. both of whom everyone hated cause they were just acting like themselves, bitchy and annoying.

  13. Jules says:

I’m actually looking forward to Haywire because it has my Ewan and cameo by Fassy.
It will probably be just eh, but I’m down anyway.

Good for her, maybe she’ll stop talking out of the side of her mouth, and then I can try to watch the movie.

What is up with the stupid teal shoes??

  14. Bubbling says:

She is hot (that’s about it), but I swear the worst actress in universe! Few of the GG episodes I watched, she was so annoying with “sad faces” when she brakes up and fake giggling when in love

  15. Asli says:

Isn’t that the movie Channing pitched to Soderbergh? And is Gossip Girls still going? Who watches that anymore?

  16. Cathy says:

The movie sounds boring. Atlantapug you are right with the toe thing, she needs to stop and fix that.

  17. dd says:

Good for her! game is paying off now I can see.
Sadly the game she is playing [aka “acting”] in movies isn’t good as her personal-carerr life.

  18. Melbeezy says:

Yeah, what is with her lower leg, tight region?

Girl’s got socks on under the tights? What?

  19. NeNe says:

Well, in my opinion, it certainly isn’t for her acting. This girl couldn’t act her way out of a paperbag. Casting couch…. anyone…..

  20. anonymous says:

I bet she’ll hook up with Jude Law.
    Mark my words

  21. Emma - the JP lover says:

I have no idea how she got the role. For that matter, how did she manage to get the role in “The Green Lantern?” Lord knows the girl couldn’t act her way out of a wet paper sack and she has the stiffest body posture on screen.

  22. Skinnybetch says:

Does she come from a well connected Hollywood family? Unless she’s giving bjs to all of her directors, I cannot figure out why this girl is getting A- list movie roles.

  23. Kit says:

She’s not a great actress and there’s no hiding that if you’re the lead. So if this movie bombs at the boxoffice and is smashed by critics, it will be the first and last time.
I hope she doesn’t go away though, her game is spectacular and really amusing. Its headshakingly, side-eyeingly fabulous!!!

  24. Franny says:

I find that cast very unbelievable. Jude Law is a psychiatrist? I guess he does play a doctor in SH, but he just always reminds me of his role in The Holiday. Always.

  25. Nonny says:

Ummmm, how did she get the role…..do you really have to ask?
That ‘girl’ is a lot older than she says she is. Also she looks like a man!

  26. TheOriginalKitten says:

I don’t hate Lively but I think she still has to prove herself. I watched the first season of Gossip Girl and I do find it odd that Leighton Meester (the clearly more talented actress-at least on the show) doesn’t get more roles when Blake does. I’m going to show respect by avoiding the “:casting couch” comments but maybe she just knows more people in the industry, has a better agent, or auditions more. Who knows? I hope she does well, though, for her sake.

  27. Lola says:

I really hate when people say that the got give her props for the tactics she uses to create interest around her celebrity. It like giving props to a thief or a cheat bc their tactics we’re better than most.

Also I hate when people say ” so and so is the worst actor EVER”. For most acting is subjective and changes with the times. What made actors do great in the 50’s would not work today.
At best Blake is serviceable, her talents lack much creativity but with the right character or movie she could be consider top notch.

  28. LeManda says:

I don’t get all the hate for this girl. I think she’s actually a pretty good actress. Not great, but maybe she could be. She’s WAY better then most the other starlets we talk about on this site!

    • Mae says:

I was actually pretty neutral on Blake until I started reading celebitchy, but now I am a fan. I feel like a lot of women on here hate on her for no reason and it has made me do the opposite.

  29. Sarko says:

Oh the let’s write up ish on Blake cos she drives traffic is still on I see

Well it’s a good tactic its how a no nothing Lainey, gets anyone to phone in on her
I guess Blake also serviced Rebecca Miller, Sofia Copolla, Robin Penn, Anna Wintour et al who have all sung her praises and stated they would like to work with her

Almost all the shots of Blake are from her GG set or rare like this Versace event last year, but I guess there is a need to write on her to promote your narrative as a party animal/w****

I wonder why no one calls out Emma Stone for her photo ops?

    • Blue says:

      What?

      • Maripily says:

Sarko, all celebrity blogs write about celebrities that generate interest. Or else no one would read. Emma Stone is likeable. Blake Lively…not so much. There’s something mercenary about her.

  30. Dot says:

Are people serious with this casting couch business? Soderbergh is a wealthy, respected A-list director – do you really think he finds it difficult to get laid? The world is full of women who would be happy to do him without expecting a leading role in return.

Unless you think Blake Lively is so alluring & amazing to all who behold her that they will offer her lead roles in major films just for the opportunity to touch her precious flesh. But all of you seem to think she’s trashy & nothing special, so that doesn’t really make sense, right?

Furthermore, the lead in Soderbergh’s latest movie isn’t even an actress, she’a a cage fighter who has never acted before in her life! Obviously, he doesn’t mind taking a chance when casting leads in his movies.

  31. lela says:

Is it me or does she look like Jennifer Aniston in the first GG pic.

  32. mika says:

Beautiful, comically bad at acting, beautiful, likable, sweet, inexplicably taken very seriously… yup… Blake is the new Keanu Reeves.

  33. Ash says:

I always thought Leighton was the more talented one too and would succeed outside the show. Guess I was wrong. Blake obviously has way more ambition than her so..

  34. RocketMerry says:

    By baking?

  35. Photo Jojo says:

I thought she was great in The Town. I’ve never seen any of her other stuff but I really liked her in that movie

  36. Riana says:

I don’t get why you have such venom for the Kartrashians but you’re so proud of this particular talentless famewhore.

Blake to me is just a rather ugly girl who does everything in her power to give off ‘Please like me’ vibes while hooking up with every co-star she works with. This could even be okay…if her acting didn’t suck so hard.

Simply because she plasters that goofy smile on her face and acts like an angel doesn’t mean she deserves accomplishments for what I have to assume…seriously her acting is AWFUL…are amazing oral sex skills.

It makes me want to adore Rooney Mara, bad attitude or not at least she’s putting effort into actually doing her job. Acting, not appealing to the PR crowd.

  37. @Riana says:

I so agree. She gets all these praises when she has not earned it yet. For now she is just another overrated, overexposed actress to me.

  38. dena says:

I wouldn’t put too much faith in Soderbergh’s integrity here, people.

He DID hire a p*rn star for The Girlfriend Experiment. The man is a pig.

    • Tapioca says:

He also had a daughter from an extra-marital affair…

…and called the poor kid “Pearl Button”!

  39. Eve says:

Because Jennifer Lawrence dropped out to do Hunger Games and Steven Soderburgh lost the ability to distinguish between the talented and untalented young blonde actresses.

  40. Rita says:

Gosh, I love the way she looks in the winter coat with the wooly worm wrap. It’s the best I’ve seen her in months. Good luck to her.

  41. Sasha says:

I think there may be more to Blake than meets the eye. I mean, you all comment on how great her game is, so there’s obviously SOMETHING going on in her head. There’s enough girls that are more attractive, more desperate, more whatever. So she’s completely replaceable in that regard. I don’t know, I think maybe you all underestimate her 😛

Also.. I really can’t believe a Hollywood top (ex top?) dog like SS would give some chick a role just because she was ready to do dirty and gross things for him. Like.. it must be pretty easy for a man in his position to get laid. Why ruin your own film from the get-go by hiring someone you didn’t believe was talented? At least he wouldn’t have given her the lead if sexual favours were involved anywhere. Maybe a bit part. Not lead.

  42. Tweakspotter says:

Bwahahahahaha…those TIGHTS! I just CAN’T with this girl.

  43. neve says:

BLAKE’S BOOBS. accompanied by blake lively. can she even act?

  44. Misspdx says:

I love how she’s being so cutesy with her feet in that last shot. She looks like a teenager talking to a boy for the first time on the phone. How sweet.

  45. UKHels says:

hmmm I had no clue about her acting abilities and then happened to see her in two films at the weekend (The Town and Green Lantern)

and I just found her ‘meh’ in both – not Bosworth-bad but not great either

so she may shine if this is ‘the role’

  46. KsGirl says:

I’ll sayt his again: I thought she was pretty good in The Town. I haven’t seen Pippa Lee or GG, but I remember being surprised by how well she did in the Affleck movie. Not really sure why this woman gets so much hate…I don’t really know a ton about her but she seems pretty normal/inoffensive.

  47. layla says:

    The girl CAN NOT act.

She can barely open her mouth to form an actual word. Heaven forbid she use inflection and intonation in general speech, let a alone to convey any emotion, or felling, or ya know, ACT!

It seems some folks are confusing this lack of actual diction with a “good portryayal” of a drug addict. Pft.

Girl may be smart with the roles she picks thou…
    1. drunk mumbling air head socialite,
    2. slurrying mumbling drug addict
    and now it seems,
3.another drugged out, slurred speech pill popping role.

Well.. at least the girl knows her range (or lack there of!) 😉

  48. crys737 says:

well she was convincing in “The Town”…thats about it…

  49. Cali says:

She was okay in the town, but homegirl isn’t that good. I got hooked on Gossip Girl over the summer and watched every season in 2 weeks before the new one started – love the show, but it’s the rest of the cast – NOT Blake that is good. They all act the pants off of her.

  50. PleaseICU says:

It’s not that much of a coup. Let’s not pretend that Soderbergh has high acting standards, or any acting standards, when casting his female leads these days. IIRC he’s cast porn stars and a former MMA star with no acting experience as leads in a couple of his recent films.

  51. Original Chloe says:

    *blinks*

  52. The Original Mia says:

Girl can’t act. Has high-profiled boyfriends. Has naked pictures of her NotSelf out there. Were you serious with that question?

  53. NaomiCampbellsPhone says:

This would make more sense if the film was called “The Side Boob Effects”.

  54. HannahG says:

He also cast Sasha Grey in a lead role. I don’t think he is too concerned with acting ability. He just likes girls to look the part.

  55. Camille (The original) says:

In that top photo it looks like she has an ass for a chest. *shudder*

I am amazed her acting career is still going, she is a terrible actress. I guess the casting couch is alive and well these days huh.

  56. Little Darling says:

I think Blake is all right. I remember reading something about Ben Affleck not even wanting to take a chance even meeting her for The Town, and she pushed herself in front of him, got that gnarly accent down, and he was like, Man, I had to say yes.

She wants it, seems sweet (I love the baking story where she went to the woman’s party and baked with her) and I think she probably is pretty harmless. I think her key is that she is sweet, easy to work with, hard working and has some sort of talent….Pippa and The Town were both good roles for her.

Also, opposite Channing she’s going to seem like Meryl Streep! (joke!)

I can’t hate on her. She seems sweet, and to me that can take a person a really, REALLY long way.

Also, her sister is Robin Lively, of the greatest film in the universe, Teen Witch!

  57. Blue says:

Can someone please tell me what “game” this girl is supposed to have.
I can’t watch anything with her in it (movies, interviews etc) she mumbles and is so dull.

    • Dee says:

      Blue, can’t you see?!!!
Blake isn’t the most talented actress in the industry, let alone in her own tv show. She isn’t the most beautiful either, nor is she the most charismatic. She is bland, not particularly articulate or interesting. But for some reason she managed to establish herself as a fashion girl, bagging a contract with Unkle Karl, get Vogue covershoots AND got to be Leo Di Caprio’s girl for a while, giving the impression that he was INTO her. She got him to get papped in Verona. On a side walk. In a church. Pose for her in front of the paps. Slip a nude pics scandal under the rug very quickly. Then landed the prize she had the eyes on form the very beginning of the Green Lantern fimling. Ryan Reynolds. She had to get told by Scarlett to back off. That didn’t stop a divorce and a photo op five months later in a “secluded” area of Utah which happens to be her sister’s B&B! She taking his dog out. And now she’s the lead in a Soderbergh movie? Please. Anyone doubting this girl’s game should take a seat and STUDY. Don’t hate the player. Hate the game. Go Blake! 😀

  58. study-er says:

Maybe she is sweet, has talent, etc etc but the “hate on” seems to be related a lot to how she is an attention-hound, and that seems to be reserved for the less talented out there. If she truly wants to be a serious actor, and she comes from some good (indie) movie material, then she should be working on that ‘image’ and not presenting herself as fluff. Why not model her image after the greats like cate blanchett, and not after people like JenA? because currently her image says “i want rom-com roles” when I see her photos, etc.

  59. jelynn says:

    With her mouth.

  60. Kim says:

GEE I wonder how she got the role??! Come on this girl has one of the worst casting couch reps in Hollywood. She is know to do anything for a job.

  61. the original bellaluna says:

    On her knees.

  62. lisa says:

She looks so lovely in the street pictures. I love that outfit. Very age appropriate. Super cute.

OK wait.. I hate the blue shoes.. booties would have been perfect.

  63. whatevs says:

ugh this butterfaced, no talent, overrated, overly ambitious famewhore is annoying me more and more daily. she needs to go away

  64. Mitch Buchanan Rocks says:

In these photos Blake looks like Ellen Pompeo with Jennifer Anistons hair.

  65. hatekyle says:

Her movie should be renamed “Side Dishes” considering the many men she dated until she got this lead role.

  66. grey says:

Can’t say I like this girl as an actress, or as a respectable woman. She’s so full of herself it’s disgusting. And she can’t act to save her life. Bad call, on Soderberg’s part.

  67. Leslie says:

I have to disagree – I saw Pippa Lee and was actually disappointed with her performance. The character is supposed to be carefree and reckless, yet Lively makes her just seem confused and one-dimensional. Although I like her scenes with Monica Belluci, the drug scenes at the beginning were a disaster, which is what makes me nervous about this movie. It’s about a drug problem, yet, when she plays a character that’s high, she simply mumbles and runs her hands through her hair.
It wasn’t a good performance, I preferred her in The Town.

  68. Shy says:

Well did you saw trailer for Soderberg’s last movie? Haywire. It’s like some female version of Bourne movies and it stars Gina Carano. Some MMA fighter. That says a lot about the film. And Soderbergh put all those A-List cameos there and I still think that it will flop.

And then comes that Blake Lively role. Well you read synopsis and has anyone any desire to watch that movie? I have zero desire and that movie will flop financially. And it will flop at the critics and awards because obviously. It’s not like Blake plays Lead opposite DiCaprio or Clooney. She plays opposite Channing Tatum.

That movie will came out, have some 20-30 millions at box-office and then vanish. If it even will have wide release.

Not socks – she’s wearing ankle length leggings under her tights, likely for warmth. The toes to her tights, though – gah!

My question exactly! This girl is attractive, but forgettable. Given both her looks and her acting skills, she could be a million other blonde twenty-somethings in Hollyweird. There’s no “x factor” (which, for those of you post-pubescents, was actually a term before it was a TV show).

I Go Hard For GG. Blake’s wardorbe is to die for on that show. It is clever and well written and the biggest draw is one of the best couples on tv and performed by the most talented young actors on the show: Chuck and Blair (sexy fug Ed Westick and darling Leighton Meester). They make me wanna do a fan vid on youtube!

I like Blake and don’t get all the hate. So she wants to be a movie star and not an actress; well maybe because she understands her capabilities. People said the same thing about Julia Roberts and I think she is a very good actress who is also a movie star but will admit many people see her as the latter. I have not heard that Blake is half as devious or skanky in her love life as Roberts was in her first few years in Hollynogood right up to her current status as Mrs. Moder.

I doubt she had to sleep with Soderbergh or anyone else but will not rule it out as it hs been rumoured that even Clark Gable went gay for parts in his earlier days.

Still she shouldn’t be singled out so nastily. I don’t detect Beyoncé levels of fraud and my cousins from NYC have meant her when they filmed in their neighborhood and said she was very genuine and had “southern” manners and since we are only second generations Yanks with deep southern roots I believe them. I thought she was from Cali though.

She actually is a very good actress. See her in The Town.

It’s ok, she can be beautiful and good at acting ladies. Don’t be haters.

Sorry, even after her nose job I still think she’s horsey looking and I don’t think she’s that great of an actress.

Just because people hate on certain celebs that doesn’t mean it’s because they’re just jelly.

  73. Neena says:

Regarding Blake…well good for her i guess. She’s pretty harmless. She may not be the best actress out there but she knows how to play the game.

Since GG she’s pretty much re-invented herself. Plastic surgery, hanging out with the right people, establishing herself as a ‘fashion icon’. She lunches with Karl et al.

She’s got gr8 PR and has made sure she’s been cast in mainly critically aclaimed projects.

I think she’ll go far. You’ve got to hand it to her. Despite what many think she’s doing far better than her other GG co-stars.

Blake is ugly and gross… and cannot act, overrated and overexposed – YUCK!! Ryan Reynolds, i liked you before you seriously downgraded from scarlett to ugly horse faced Blake lively
